Our Story

Small Beginnings
We began our goat herd dreams in central Minnesota in 2019 with an empty field, a tiny house, and 3 doelings from Oregon - Larissa, Lucy, and Lupita. We built a barn, a house, and a family over the next 2 years as we welcomed our son and added our first kiko buck - Moonshine.
Big Move North
As our son grew, we decided to leave our farmstead and move it all back home to the beautiful Iron Range in Northern Minnesota to be closer to family. Our goats helped us clear pasture and set up a second farmstead as our herd grew.

Due to the high predator load of the Northwoods, we welcomed five working LGDs (livestock guardian dogs) to protect our beloved growing goat herd. The dogs have been amazing to watch mature into gentle giants, and they are now highly valued coworkers. Not only have they saved our herd from wolves, a bear, eagles, and coyotes, but they have made even our most jumpy goats so much more confident and friendly.
Big Plans
We set up Mesabi Farms and Adventures in January 2024 as intrest in our goats grew. We have added more acreage for rotational grazing, and we have plans to expand our herd further this spring by bringing in over a dozen doelings from Lookout Point Ranch. We have been very pleased with his hardy stock, and they have thrived here with minimal maintenance even in our harsh winters.
We are excited to see what this new season brings as we continue striving to produce quality meat wethers and breeding stock.
